April 19-20, 2018
The Peninsula Tokyo

“2018 is a promising year for the aviation industry in Japan – traffic is expecting to soar to a record high, and a series of policy initiatives including airport privatisation are set to expand the infrastructure capacity for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2020. In the finance and investment market, the robust commercial liquidity in syndication and the increasing participation of regional banks have helped to stimulate the debt and equity side of JOL and JOLCO transactions. More Japanese lessors and investors are tapping into operating leasing through JVs to diversify their business portfolio. Yet challenges remain: negative interest rates continue to squeeze debt margins. Innovative structures need to be created to make JOLCOs more accessible to airlines. High asset prices and low lease rates persist.”

2017 – Zeevo Group Year in Review

With the new year around the corner, it’s time to reflect on the many great things the Zeevo team achieved over the past twelve months. The #zeevoteam never ceases to pursue excellence, strive for success and deliver the best-in-class solutions to our customers. Our passion for aviation and technology is evident across the industry.

Here are some of our highlights from 2017:

Ringing in the new year — Zeevo celebrated a successful first year in operation. Identifying the overwhelming gap between business needs and technology capabilities in the leasing market, the founding team of former ILFC executives launched Zeevo Group in January 2016. To date, the Zeevo team has grown strong with a roster of more than 30 professionals with expertise in contracts, finance and treasury, marketing, portfolio, technical and materiel management.

Dublin Airfinance Conference, January 2017 — We were right there in Dublin, not only supporting our colleagues, but also blazing the trail with a powerful editorial. Zeevo Group Principal, Karen Curtis, featured in the Airfinance Journal Conference dailies, explored the gap in the leasing market for outsourced IT solutions and enterprise software development.

ISTAT Americas, March 2017 — We joined colleagues and industry leaders at ISTAT Americas in San Diego, where we continued to network and discuss pain points across the industry spanning from technology needs to organizational structure and business processes.

MRO Americas, April 2017 — Joining more than 800 companies over the 3-day MRO Americas conference in Orlando, we were able to connect with airlines, OEMs and a wide variety of aviation maintenance professionals to introduce and highlight Zeevo’s service offerings.

It’s time to delve into treasury management, May 2017 — Zeevo added an abundance of knowledge with the hiring of Sandra Telfare, who has nearly two decades of treasury management experience in the private sector. Zeevo clients now can tap into expertise in strategic planning, design, development, implementation and large-scale systems project management with a focus on corporate treasuries.

Shaping the industry’s next generation of professionals — Zeevo further leveraged its ISTAT footprint by joining the ISTAT Internship Committee in the summer of 2017. Zeevo Group Director of Business Development, Angela Geremia, led the front and engaged Zeevo in the efforts to connect aviation and technology focused students looking to refine their skill sets and gain experience before graduation and entering the job force.

ISTAT interns come aboard — Zeevo kicked off its Summer Internship Program offering various positions to aviation and technology focused students. Joshua Trygg was Zeevo’s first Software Development intern.

Zeevo presence at Annual Chi-Stat Conference — Zeevo team members attended the Annual Chi-Stat Conference in Chicago at the historic Navy Pier to meet and network with aviation finance, marketing and consulting professionals.

Who said forecasting? — To provide Zeevo clients access to an arsenal of supreme knowledge and first-class solutions for aircraft and engine maintenance forecasting, Zeevo brought on Ethan Ross with the unmatched knowledge and expertise he gained at a globally recognized leasing company.

ASA Conference, July 2017 — Speaking at the Aviation Suppliers Association Conference in Reston, Zeevo Group Principal, John McCartney, discussed the changing marketplace and how IT can protect and better a business through focusing on the value of business intelligence (BI) and how BI solutions can drive tangible business results.

New faces, July & Sept 2017 — The summer was not only busy and productive but also brought new recruits to the Zeevo roster – Catie Anaya and Mireya Ramirez.

Catie‘s vast experience as an integral part of the Technical Support team at a globally recognized aircraft leasing company rendered her superior support skills to aid in projects ranging from managing maintenance reserve databases, powerplant and airframe reserve claims, to in-house IT program development and testing.

Mireya’s experience in managing large-scale data projects to digitize and organize sensitive aircraft technical and legal records of 2,000+ aircraft for a globally recognized aircraft lessor is a valuable asset to aid Zeevo clients’ business process optimization.

Accurate and timely data is essential to business success — Once again Zeevo shared its expertise in the October issue of 2017/2018 Airfinance Journal in an effort to explore and educate the leasing industry on the expanding needs and requirements of accurate and timely data. Zeevo touched on the ways to ensure minimal impact on company financials by utilizing the right tools and procedures to overcome and prevent data difficulty.

Thank you again to the #zeevoteam for such a productive and inspiring year. We truly are honored to work alongside our clients, sharing our collective passion for the industry and pursuit of excellence.

Happy New Year!

What’s Happening with the Apple iCloud Ransom?

Hackers are demanding that Apple pays a ransom or they will remotely erase millions of customer iPhones, iPads, and Macs.  The hackers claim to have access to 250 million accounts and are threatening to reset the passwords on those iCloud accounts and remotely wipe customer devices if Apple doesn’t pay the ransom by April 7.

Apple states it hasn’t been hacked but that the data came from ‘previously compromised third-party services.’ The hackers also denied any direct breach of Apple systems and instead claim the data came from breached accounts from other sites and services. The idea is that people use the same account for many sites.

Some researchers have been able to get some of the account information and validate that SOME of it is in fact valid. There is still no clear view of how many Apple customers may be at risk but taking steps to ensure you’re not affected is always a good precaution.

What should I do?

  • Change your iCloud password.
    • Your Apple ID and iCloud password are the same.
    • To change your Apple ID password, sign in to your Apple ID account page with any web browser and follow the instructions to reset your password.
  • Don’t use the same password for multiple accounts e.g., email, iCloud.
  • Longer is always better when it comes to a password.  Use a phrase like “I love airplanes!” It’s easier to remember and it’s much stronger than a shorter more complex password.
